Our services

Engineering, Procurement, Construction - EPC

In brief

Your 100% customized turnkey installation.

Our EPC contracts guarantee a completely turnkey project that is 100% customized, regardless of the type of installation selected.

Design, supply, construction, installation: our EPC contracts cover all stages of your project, which we carry out in complete transparency and in close collaboration with you in order to provide you with a 100% customized turnkey installation, while constantly focusing on high-performance operation and management.

This is carried out no matter what type of structure you need:

  • thermal power plant equipped with diesel (LFO), heavy fuel (HFO), gas, or biogas generators (engines/turbines)
  • power plant based on renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, biomass, etc.) or a hybrid system (combination of renewable, thermal, and storage)
  • water pumping/transfer station
  • distribution and transmission of electrical power (HV/MV): power lines, distribution substations, etc.

Thermal power plants

Whether they are powered by HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil), LFO (Light Fuel Oil), gas, or biogas, all our thermal power plants are developed according to an individual and specific design that is tailored to your needs. The engines or turbines, which are developed with standard components of proven quality, are specifically selected for each project.

Renewable power plants

If this is what you require, GPS can offer you energy supply solutions that integrate the latest renewable technologies, whether it be solar, wind, hydroelectric, or something else. This is made possible by our relationships with reliable and well-known partners in each of these domains. Everything is based on a comprehensive and realistic analysis of the renewable production potential in your individual case, in order to provide you with an economically viable solution.

Hybrid power plants

GPS can also work out the best alternate option for you between 100% thermal and 100% renewable: a hybrid power plant that integrates state-of-the-art production and storage equipment—batteries, solar panels, engine—in order to guarantee continuous, high-quality renewable production.

Electrical power distribution

In addition to energy production, the wide range of GPS services also includes optimized solutions for the transmission and distribution of power, which are determined according to actual requirements, without neglecting the network’s potential for growth or reorganization. An effective network of optimally sized substations, transformers and lines guarantees the stability and reliability of power distribution. GPS will also help you carry out the necessary technical planning to modernize any existing electrical networks. Lastly, we will also support you in determining dispatch strategies according to provisional consumption values and network capacity.

Pumping stations

Pumping stations serve as part of a hydraulic infrastructure that is intended to solve problems relating to the supply of drinking water or irrigation.  The water is transferred by electrical and hydromechanical equipment, under the control of a remote management system.

At the source of the water supply is a dam, a reservoir in which the water is pumped and treated (depending on its application) before being transferred a few dozen to several hundred kilometers. The transfer of water may be gravitational and/or electromechanical.

In the latter case, motor pump units (LV or MV) are used to carry out the transfer.

GPS undertakes turnkey projects together with its partners who supply hydromechanical equipment, pumps, valves, piping, surge tanks, etc.

Project development

Technical and financial feasibility study, engineering, development, and project management… GPS assists each customer in outlining their specific project in order to guarantee that they have sound foundations from which to develop, implement, and monitor the technical solutions intended to respond to their problem in an optimal way and over the long term.

BOOT - IPP

The BOOT (Build Own Operate Transfer) option is a type of “Project Finance”: GPS is contracted by a public or private company to finance, develop, construct, operate, and maintain the installation.  GPS retains ownership of the installation for a predetermined period of time, which allows it to recoup its investment as well as the costs of operation and maintenance. At the end of this period, ownership of the installation is transferred to the customer. This spares our customers from the need to prefinance projects and ensures optimum performance of the installations.

The IPP (Independent Power Producer) option stipulates that the power plant is the property of a private entity (and not a public service) which is responsible for supplying power to the public service or to the end user. The IPP (private equipment company or manufacturer, cooperative, corporation, etc.) and its customer are bound by a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), which defines the conditions of sale of power between the producer (IPP) and the distributor.

EPC

With this option, the customer contracts GPS for the complete realization of their project, whether it’s a new installation or restoration of an existing system. GPS is therefore responsible for project management, finance management, development, engineering, equipment procurement, logistics, construction, assembly, and commissioning of the installation in question, all of which is financed by the customer.

Operation - Maintenance

Operation contract : with this type of contract, you entrust GPS to manage your installation: project management, engineering, logistics, etc. Thanks to our expertise and appropriately trained staff, we ensure your installation is functioning in an optimal way, meeting requirements as closely as possible. Our customers are therefore guaranteed efficient and properly managed activities.

Maintenance contract : once the installation is commissioned, GPS remains by your side to ensure that it is functioning well throughout its lifetime, thanks to teams that can carrying out maintenance and repair work on units—and their auxiliaries—of all sizes and brands. This means any downtime can be prevented or minimized. (See also “Original replacement parts”)

Power plant leasing

In order to meet ad-hoc needs—seasonal peaks, special events, etc.—GPS offers a cost-effective solution: leased production capacity. This will be in the form of containerized production units, enabling flexibility and mobility, or permanent power plants, if this option turns out to be better adapted to the context.

Supply of original replacement parts

The GPS service would not be complete if we did not offer our customers the certainty of being provided with appropriate and certified original parts if required. As soon as possible.
